Placer County Schutzhund Club is a member of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. The purpose of Schutzhund is to demonstrate the dog's intelligence and utility. It measures the dog's mental stability, endurance, structural efficiencies, ability to scent, willingness to work, courage, and trainability. This working dog sport offers an opportunity for dog owners to train their dog and compete with each other for recognition of both the handler's ability to train and the dog's ability to perform as required. Our members are dedicated to promoting and preserving the true working temperament, character and confirmation of our working breeds. We come together in camaraderie born of our common interest and enjoyment working with our dogs. Persons of all walks of life and ages enjoy the sport of Schutzhund. We train weekly, year round as well as host training seminars, annual trials and of course, host our annual Dogstock. We are a not-for-profit club and welcome all breeds and persons of all ages.
